Adone Pozzobon Artist Bio.
Welcome to my personal little corner, allow me to introduce myself and tell you a little about my background. My name is Adone Pozzobon and I was born in a small town in Northern Italy neighboring the beautiful city of Venice and moved to Canada at the age of two where I have resided ever since. As a young child I was exposed to art through my father and I found enormous satisfaction in passing the time creatively exploring different projects. As I grew older, I came to realize just how significant a role art had played in my family's history. My father was a classical artist a master painter and sculptor while his father before him was an ornamental wood carver of furniture. As a youth, I recall the countless paintings, sculptures many of which were of museum quality that paraded past me year after year and there came the day that I too had attained sufficient skills of my own in a variety of professional fields that eventually lead to my career as a freelance artist.

Prior to becoming a professional artist I spent eighteen years in the commercial graphic arts printing industry where I managed a lithography department. Although for as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for decorative antiques and a particular fondness for ancient swords, and daggers. Collecting soon developed into making and making soon found a need to fill the blank areas decoratively. One thing lead to another and before long I attempted my own ornamental decorations but I soon discovered it was no easy task cutting metal, especially when using all the wrong tools. Back then I had no idea where to purchase engraving tools or for that matter if such tools even existed, after all at the time, the only place I had ever seen engraving was in old library books on antiques. So I did the only thing I knew to do, I made my own tools and I practiced engraving each night for several hours for several years and it was a joy. In time I had discovered that engraving was alive an well and that there were specialty shops where I could purchase the reference materials and tools I required to advance my skills further and with time I learned the traditional engraving styles. By day I worked by as a lithographer and by night and by weekends I worked as an engraver, and I dared to dream that I could become proficient enough to make a career of it; I never stopped believing in that success. I soon entered the firearm collectors market and began engraving antique pistols and hunting rifles and in between I restored antique engravings on older firearms. After several years I gained sufficient experience in a variety of areas and I was ready to leave the printing industry for good and launch my career as an engraving artist. As the years passed I explored smaller less forgiving mediums such as collector art knives and fine jewelry such as rings and watch movements but my favorite commissions are those that bear special sentiment to their owner. I particularly like these because they their personality gives my work depth and meaning that inspires a different form of creativity one specifically designed to harmonize to them. Through the years I have been fortunate to have had clients come from every continent and to have had my work appear in magazine publications, books, and Hollywood feature films, as well as having won the prestigious award by 'The Canada Council for the Arts' 'In the pursuit of excellence in furthering Canadian Cultural Arts'.
In closing, I hope you enjoy my portfolio please enjoy your visit, and feel free to write me if you have any questions or simply wish to contact me and say hello, you're sure to receive a reply.
Many thanks   Adone
